WELLINGTON COUNTY - When horse people left for U.S. racetracks during provincial COVID-19 lockdowns, worry rippled across the harness racing industry about a permanent loss of drivers and horses. Homegrown talent has since returned spurring industry optimism about recovery.

Belwood man charged with sexual assault
GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A Belwood man has been charged with sexual assault following an incident here earlier this month. Wellington County OPP officials say that on July 9 at about 4:45am they received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in a vehicle on Wellington Road 29 in Guelph/Eramosa.
