ABOYNE – Canada at War Day is running at the Wellington County Museum and Archives on July 24. The event features a variety of guest presenters, war re-enactors and veterans.

The Geddes Street Market quietly opened at 1pm June 25, with at least a dozen people lined up outside waiting for the doors to open.

ELORA – Spectators will return to the Grand River Raceway here on June 30. The raceway will initially welcome back 500 spectators during step two of the province's reopening plan.

ELORA – The Elora and District Skating Club has won the 2020-21 Club Award from Skate Ontario. The award is rare for a small-town skating club to receive, officials say, noting the Elora club was recognized for its hard work and dedication to members during the pandemic.

FERGUS — The Fergus Fall Fair is going virtual for the first time ever and community members of all ages are invited to showcase their hobbies and talents in a new way.

FERGUS – A large drug bust here has resulted in the seizure of over $4.5 million in marijuana. Wellington County OPP officials say members of its street crime unit executed a search warrant on June 24 at a commercial property on Glengary Crescent in Fergus.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington District High School’s (CWDHS) Bridgette Merry brought home the silver medal for Ontario for workplace safety in the Skills Canada Virtual National Competition.

FERGUS – The Fergus Medieval Faire has been cancelled for the second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers of the event, originally planned for July 25, announcement the news on Facebook on June 22.
