FERGUS – The Fergus Ghost Walk is preparing for its upcoming summer and fall walking tour dates, with tickets available now at $15 per person.

FERGUS – Council unanimously approved the business park strategy prepared by McSweeney and Associates at its July 26 meeting. The township purchased land on Dickson Drive in north Fergus for a business park in 2020 and the strategy will see the area developed in phases as the land sells.

ELORA – Pearle Hospitality will get a 10-year tax break on its Elora south development after council agreed on July 26 that it qualifies for a Tax Increment Equivalent Grant.

WELLINGTON COUNTY - Ran Zhu hoped to run for political office one day, but didn’t expect it would happen this soon. Still, he’s excited to represent the Green Party in Wellington-Halton Hills in the next election after being acclaimed by the riding association earlier this month.

FERGUS – A familiar face will be returning to Team Canada for the upcoming Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Fergus native Patrick Anderson was recently named to Canada’s wheelchair basketball team for the games, which will take place Aug. 24 to Sept. 5.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The 31st annual Industry Day will welcome spectators back in full force on Aug. 2, as additional areas open at Grand River Raceway.

ALMA – The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games hosted a modified heavy events competition in hopes of bringing back some of the festival spirit to athletes and members of the community.
