First Wellington County Writers Festival draws wordsmiths, readers together
ABOYNE – The inaugural Wellington County Writers Festival launched here on April 23 was a hit with writers and readers alike. A total of 45 authors and book vendors were on hand for the event at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
Local youth draw attention to social issues at justice march
FERGUS – A group of young people took to the streets here on Sunday to draw attention to a number of social justice causes. The April 24 Youth for Justice march was organized by Centre Wellington District High School students Abby Graham, Kyla Perry and Avaline Booth.
Elora Rocks claim Sleeman Cup in inaugural WOSHL season
ELORA – The Elora Rocks have won the championship in the inaugural season of the Western Ontario Super Hockey League. The newly revived team won the best-of-seven final series 4-2 against the Tillsonburg Thunder, wrapping up Game 6 on Saturday with a 3-2 win on the road.
