ELORA – Sue Hosking never had much money and she never considered herself an artist. But following her death and as per her wishes, her friends are auctioning off 93 pieces of art Hosking created over the years.

ELORA – The Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) yard was bustling on Sept. 5 with about 450 people settled at picnic tables, in lawn chairs, and on picnic blankets on the grass.

FERGUS – There were about 120 participants at this year’s Wellington-Dufferin Walk for Parkinson’s on Sept. 7 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus.
Two new kick-off events for studio tour
ELORA – The Elora Fergus studio tour is free of charge and is a self guided tour to meet and greet artists where they live and work on two consecutive fall weekends, Sept. 28 and 29 and Oct. 5 and 6 from 10am-5pm.
Call for fall in Elora Gorge turns out to be minor
ELORA – Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue responded to a fall at the Elora Gorge on Sept. 1, but by the time firefighters arrived on scene, the injured person had managed to get to the top of the gorge with assistance from folks in the vicinity.

Ponsonby Gold U11 team wins silver
PONSONBY – Rain didn’t stop the Ponsonby Gold U11 team from winning silver medals in the ‘A’ division, after three extra innings against a strong Mount Forest team, at the year-end tournament in Hanover on Aug. 22 and 23.
