Hip sounds – Grace2Band came to Fergus on April 30 to celebrate The Tragically Hip and raise funds for the Downie Wenjack Foundation, a charity started by the late Gord Downie that is dedicated to assisting Indigenous people.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Rehabilitation work Creekbank Bridge, located on Wellington Road 17 approximately 0.7km East of Wellington Road 18 in Centre Wellington, is set to begin May 8. The work will be performed by Engineered Concrete Limited of Kitchener, Ontario. 

Camp donation –  At the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 275 Fergus general meeting on April 19, a donation of $2,000 was presented to the Belwood Lodge and Camp.

FERGUS – A teacher at JD Hogarth Public School here is facing child pornography charges. Darwin Charles Harrison, 38, of Guelph, was arrested on April 6 and charged with possessing child pornography, making child pornography available and accessing child pornography.

ELORA – The Elora Farmers' Market will open for the season at Bissell Park on May 6. It will run every Saturday in the spring and summer, rain or shine, from 9am to 1pm.

ABOYNE - The Indigenous Gathering Circle located at the Wellington Place Campus in Aboyne was officially opened on April 26 with remarks from local politicians and Indigenous ceremony.

FERGUS – The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games has announced its "featured guest" for this summer's festival will be Richard Rankin. Fans of Outlander will recognize Rankin as the actor who plays Roger MacKenzie on the hit TV series.

FERGUS – With little fanfare, Centre Wellington council approved a proposal by Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington to build a townhouse complex at 465 Garafraxa St. W. in Fergus.
