ELORA – Township staff will put on “pause” a plan to rebuild the stairs that lead from Victoria Park to the Elora Gorge in the hope a community partner will come forward or a grant can be obtained to help cover some of the cost overrun.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The annual Terry Fox Run will be taking place this week- end on Sept. 17 across several municipalities in Wellington County to help raise money for cancer research.

FERGUS – A plaque honouring Richard Pierpoint will be erected at the Pierpoint Fly Fishing Nature Reserve in early October. Pierpoint is recognized as the first Black settler in Centre Wellington.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN) Dr. Rafik Daihoum has recently joined the Groves Memorial Community Hospital team and Riverside Medical Group.

ELORA – Students at the Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) got to meet a musical superstar last month – 11-time Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist Feist.

FERGUS — After a successful debut last fall, organizers of The Enchanted Forest of Fergus say they are excited to host the second annual event in the forest behind the Wellington County Community Sportsplex on Sept. 22 and 23.

FERGUS – Police continue to investigate a bomb threat targeting Centre Wellington District High School that turned out to be a hoax.

BELWOOD – The Belwood Lake Car Club is hosting its 11th annual Car Show here on Sept. 10 from noon to 4pm.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The new Ontario Swine Research Centre opened in Elora on Aug. 24.
