Local writer launches collection of short stories

EDEN MILLS – Local writer Gloria Nye is launching her collection of 19 short stories, Buried Treasures, on Aug, 17.

The digital book edition will be free for the first three days after its release through Amazon.ca and Amazon.com and will also be available in paperback.

One of the short stories won first prize at the Elora Literary Festival, with another winning second prize at the Words Alive Literary Festival in Sharon.

A third short story was awarded honourable mention at the Eden Mills Writers Festival and another was shortlisted by the Writer’s Union of Canada.

Nye was a special education tutor for forty years and retired in Rockwood to follow her second passion of writing. She often draws on her experiences teaching in her short stories.

She’s the author of the Dragonfly Series novels which consist of three books so far: The Hidden Vow, The Broken Promise and The Forbidden Path. Nye is currently in the midst of writing the fourth.

The subjects and tone of the 19 stories are varied. There’s humour, horror, mystery, suspense, and inspiration.

Visit the authors website at GloriaNye.com or SpiralPress.ca for more information. The paperback edition can be picked up at Magic Pebble Books in Elora and BookLore in Orangeville.
