MOUNT FOREST – Adult skaters from the Skate Canada Mount Forest skating club won bronze medals at the Elizabeth Manley Winter Classic skating competition in Ottawa on the weekend of Feb. 16 to 18.
Brianna Brown and Nicole Maurer-West both competed in the Adult Bronze Artistic Women’s Division with Maurer-West receiving a third place bronze medal and Brown coming in fourth.
Brown went on to compete in the Adult Elite Solo Pattern Dance, winning bronze medals in both the Viennese Waltz and the Argentine Tango. “Our sincere congratulations to both women who represented Mount Forest’s skating club proudly,” club officials state.Brown and Maurer-West will be showcasing their talents, along with guest skaters and the rest of the Mount Forest club members, at their year-end Carnival.
This year’s show is entitled “That ‘70s Skate Show” and will be held on March 3 from 1 to 3pm at the Mount Forest Sports Complex. Entry is by donation.
