GUELPH-ERAMOSA – The 14th annual Local Food Fest will be held on June 23, 11am to 4pm, at the Ignatius Jesuit Grounds on Highway 6 just north of Guelph.
The festival, sponsored by Guelph Wellington Taste Real and local groups and businesses, is a feast for the senses, officials say.
There will be chefs preparing local foods, craft beers and local cider, farm fresh foods, flowers and plants in the farmers’ market area, wagon rides through the farm and a Hillside Festival-sponsored stage featuring local performers. Attendees can learn how to ferment vegetables, make sausages, grow culinary mushrooms, make cider, keep backyard chickens, improve composting, or take a foraging tour to identify wild edibles.
Admission is $5 per person, or $10 per family. More information is available at wellington.ca/en/business/tr-localfoodfest.aspx.
