Big fundraiser - The Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides, hosted by the Fergus and Marsville Lions Clubs in late May, raised $19,263. Once again, the Fergus walk was in the top 10 for donations raised, from all 300 club events occurring across Canada. The Fergus walk came in at seventh place, being outpaced by Toronto, Kitchener/Waterloo, Lethbridge AB, Oakville (home of the guide dog training facility), Grimsby and Breslau (home of the puppy training facility of Dog Guides Canada). “The Fergus and Marsville Lions Clubs would like to extend our appreciation to all contributors and dog walkers, who made this happen,” officials state. In total $1,328,560 was raised through the Walk for Dog Guides across Canada.
