Local blood clinics fall short of targets

The recent blood donor clinics in Drayton and Palmerston came in just shy of collection targets, the Canadian Blood Service reports.

The clinic in Palmerston on Sept. 21 collected 77 units, which is 90 per cent of the target of 86 units.

The Drayton clinic collected 41 units, which is 71% of the target of 58 units.

Those combined clinics collected 118 units that will save up to 350 lives, states CBS officials,  who thanked everyone who came out to donate.

The next chance to donate blood in Palmerston is Nov. 16 at the Palmerston Community Centre from 5 to 8pm. In Drayton the next clinic is Nov. 27 at Community Christian School, 35 High Street.

“You have the power to save lives,” CBS officials state.
