MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Louise Marshall Foundation (LMHF) has surpassed its fundraising goal for the 20th Annual CKNX Healthcare Heroes Radiothon.
The foundation set a goal of raising $90,000 for an anesthetic gas machine for Louise Marshall Hospital through the Oct. 16 event.
“When the radiothon went off the air for the day, an unbelievable $93,000 was raised towards this goal,” foundation officials state in a Nov. 8 press release.
“Since then, the foundation’s dedicated supporters have donated a further $24,155 in support of this campaign.”
raThe additional funds bring the grand total for the 2021 radiothon to $117,155.
“This generosity means that not only can the foundation fund an anesthetic gas machine for LMH, which is a vital piece of operating room equipment, but additional items which have been identified as priority equipment needs for Louise Marshall Hospital will also be funded, and will help to keep quality healthcare close to home,” foundation officials state.
The foundation notes the radiothon continues to be a region-wide effort impacting rural healthcare in mid-western Ontario through support of 12 area hospital foundations.
“The Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation would like to extend a warm thank you to all of their donors who have supported this year’s Radiothon campaign,” officials state.
