LISTOWEL 3 – BETHEL 1
After a scoreless first period Bethel took the lead midway through the second. Caleb Bauman stuffed the puck past the post for the goal, assisted by Brandon Wideman.
Listowel tied the game before the period ended. Phil Shantz leaned into a pass from behind the net and drove the puck past a surprised netminder. Mike Gingrich and Brandon Wagler assisted.
In the third. Curtis Wagler grabbed a loose puck, cut across the crease and tucked the puck in the five hole.
Listowel added a power play goal to strengthen the lead. Travis Shantz fed a pass to Phil Shantz coming up from behind the net and he stuffed the puck in.
The win puts Listowel into the final spot of the A Division with only two games left in the regular season.
DRAYTON 3 – MISSIONARY 3
Drayton scored two quick goals in the opening shift. Within the first minute of play Eric Decker and Jason Mohle scored and assisted on each other’s goal. Darren Mohle also earned an assist.
Missionary came back with a power play goal. Matt Burnett flicked the puck over the shoulder of the goaltender to edge his team into the game, assisted by Dustin Bults and Curtis Bults.
Missionary tied the game early in the third. A centring pass from Curtis Bults off the boards gave Dustin Bults the opportunity to tip the puck into the open corner. Matt Burnett also assisted.
Drayton took the lead late in the period. A scramble at the net ended with Decker snapping the rebound into the net, assisted by Aaron Keunen.
Missionary came back to tie the game. A tidy wrist shot by Pat Landman sent the puck through the legs of the goaltender to end the game in a tie.
FLORADALE 6 – COMMUNITY 2
Floradale scored the only goal of the first period. A feed from behind the net by Ryan Martin gave Braeden Gingrich the opportunity to slip the puck into the open corner, assisted also by Willis Martin.
Floradale added to their lead in the second. Josh Brohman picked up the puck in the neutral zone, skated down the ice and beat the goaltender with a wrist shot.
Floradale opened the third with a pair of goals. Javon and Greg Martin scored, assisted by Josh Brohman and Clinton Dechert.
Community finally responded midway through the final period.
A scramble at the net resulted in Gerald Martin flicking the puck into a wide open corner. Assisted by Cal and Ryco Martin.
Community added one more goal but Floradale responded with a pair.
Kyle Wideman scored the goal for Community, assisted by John Horst. Ryan and Willis Martin scored the final two Floradale goals, assisted by Gingrich and Brohman.
The win left Floradale in first place overall.
