Lisa Hass to remain town manager at Erin a bit longer

It looks like Lisa Hass will be town manager for a bit longer.

Following a closed meeting on April 3 council directed the mayor to sign the consultant agreement with Hass to continue as the interim CAO/town manager until the end of June.

The resolution passed in the open session following the closed meeting.

On April 17, Mayor Lou Maieron noted the town entered into a contract with Hass to provide interim CAO services for the next two months.

At that point Maieron said he’d considered making an announcement at the beginning of the meeting, but was told the information was in the minutes.

“When we came out of closed session it was announced but no one was here.”

“Lisa was kind enough to continue as interim CAO. There is a contract, and we’ve agreed to the terms.”

Maieron added that contract ends June 30.

Maieron added that on April 16, council met with consultant Bill Winegard as it selected three councillors to be on a subcommittee to select a new CAO. Members of that subcommittee are Maieron along with councillors Josie Wintersinger and John Brennan. Maieron stressed that the short list of candidates would come to council for input. He noted Winegard will take the list of roughly 30 candidates and bring that down to a list of 12 candidates for the subcommittee to review and narrow that to three or four candidates. Maieron said the contract with Bill Winegard – who also assisted in Minto’s search for a new CAO last year. Winegard also helped the town of Caledon’s search as well.

Hass however will be recipient of a retirement party on April 28 at the Hillsburgh community centre from 7:30pm to midnight. Please RSVP to Connie Cox at 519-855-4407 ex 221.
