ARTHUR – The Arthur Lions Club coordinated the local Christmas Hamper Program again this past holiday season. Club officials say the program was a success due to many corporate and personal donors.
As part of the program, club members collected and weighed all dry goods donated from local public schools. The pounds-per-capita weights were calculated for each school including staff. A total of 677 pounds was donated from the three schools. The school with the best ratio was Kenilworth Public School (KPS) with 1.67 pounds per person.
The Lions Club presented a $1,500 donation to the Arthur Food Bank in recognition of the students and staff at Kenilworth for their hard work.
