Dear Editor:
We should all be concerned about deficits. Historically, Liberal prime ministers Martin and Chretien were the only ones to produce balanced budgets and at times surpluses. Contrast that with the Mulroney and Harper governments that produced record deficits. And yet Conservatives constantly complain about their opponents “overspending”.
Canada’s economy is doing well compared to other countries and our debt-to-GDP ratio is very favourable. The Liberals are taking a balanced approach, proposing investment in infrastructure, education, and health, but not offering free education and housing. Because of their record and platform on spending, I will be voting for Dr. Lesley Barron and the Liberal Party.
Marsha Wolowich,
