Dear Editor:
I’m a little disappointed in the fact that people have such a lack of respect for their neighbors.
I can understand celebrating holidays like July 1 and May 24 and so on, but, come on. Be responsible and pick one night for fire works! This past July 1 we experienced fireworks on the Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night…
That weekend we were lucky enough to have a visit, after 18 months of COVID-19 restrictions with a family member who is mentally challenged. Fireworks scare the hell out of him (he’s 59 years old).
We also have two rescue dogs that we love dearly. One is 11 and one is 5. The fireworks scared them so badly even after we gave them calming medication approved by our veterinarian that we had to sit on the floor holding them to comfort them.
Now here it is July 10 and people are still lighting off fireworks! We can’t even get our dogs to go out after dark to relieve themselves! Enough is enough!

Fergus
