Kudos to the Advertiser

Dear Editor:

What a wonderful place in which we live! Not only in Canada, but in our town of Fergus. Amid these terrible times, we have a lot to be thankful for. Of course we thank all the frontline workers and the services that are still in operation to help us out of difficulties, but to the still unsung heroes.

Services like our radio station, The Grand 101.1, that keeps is up to date and also our weekly newspaper  The Wellington  Advertiser. This paper has been with us for many years and it has become part of our lives.

Yes, I do some photography for the publication, which I really enjoy, but the real nuts and bolts of each edition is publisher David Adsett and editor Chris Daponte. They have kept our newspaper open, even when many have closed down during the pandemic.

The rest of the crew that are still working, including the reporters, others in the office and other freelancers, deserve kudos too for the stellar  job they do in keeping us up to date with the few things that are still happening in our community. These reporters are frontline people and do their best to keep you informed.

We can sit down, settle in a nice comfy chair and enjoy a good read to pass the time away.

I spent a few years in the newspaper industry and I know how hard it is to glean a story out of a few facts but the people we have in this organization are some of the best in the business. Well done, folks.

So enjoy these days even though they may seem bleak. We will get through them and look forward to many more years of The Wellington Advertiser.

Bill Longshaw,
Fergus
