Dear Editor:
RE: Facts not racist, April 2.
I totally agree. I don’t see how someone can be offended by saying that China is responsible for the coronavirus. It is proven by doctors that it originated in Wuhan, China, and was therefore brought to Europe by travelers from that area. Then Canadians who traveled to Europe caught the virus and brought it to our local Ontario communities.
The thing that offends me is that some people are willing to deny that fact and basically say it is okay that hundreds of people have died due to this virus. Our freedoms are restricted; we cannot go to church, we cannot meet freely with friends, neighbors and relatives. Worst of all, many people in larger urban centres cannot even take a walk in the park without getting a fine!
So who is to blame? China.
I know it’s not the fault of the Chinese people, but rather the government, who denied they have an issue, and therefore let the virus spread unchecked.
The people responsible deserve to pay the price for what they did, and there should be no shame in saying who is responsible.
