Dear Editor

A warning to the general public: Be wary of last minute candidates!

I was shocked to read in the advertiser a couple of weeks ago about how many names are in the election race, especially the ones running for Centre Wellington township. Almost convinced there wouldn’t be anymore names thrown in I started to loose interest, but now I wonder.

What are the real motives behind all these last minute campaigns? If real intent were there at the beginning wouldn’t you like the electors to know well in advanced as to make up there minds? Not to mention, in doing so you give yourself plenty of time to do some real door to door campaigning.

I looked into the process for nomination (for future reference). It didn’t seem that difficult to file the application and fork out the money.

All I can say is that anyone can say ‘it’s time for a change’. Said person had better be able to back that statement up when the time comes.

Again, I implore your readers, be careful who you vote for. Choose wisely.
