Does Anybody Care Any More? I am from Northern Ontario. I moved here 3 years ago in attempt to better my life. I believed in Mount Forest, and though of the town to be a good place to invest my time and money. So I relocated to Mount Forest and because I didnt want to be a burden I decided to open an antique, collectible and vintage to new jewelry shop. I have worked for 3 years almost every single day trying to earn a meager living. The harder I tried, the harder it seemed to get. But this March was absolutely the worst, on top of not earning a living and barely able to exist I was taken for almost $10,000.00 by a professional shoplifter. Whom I saw take the last items she was stealing. I was able to identify and describe accurately to the police even giving them the information as to where she worked on a part time basis. The police have since investigated and I was told that I was mistaken, even though upon consultation via a 3rd party she was convinced to give back some of what she stole. I was devastated to say the least. Then within a 2 week period my store was broke into at least 3 times, and my apartment was also broke into. My entire life has been completely ruined. My personal papers stolen, my clothes, my shoes, and most importantly my entire inventory for my store has been stolen. Also my inherited property and my rent was stolen from my apartment. Again dealing with the police has been a nightmare, I have not heard back even though the names and addresses were given to the police as to whom where, and what roles these persons played as per to their involvement. Still my antique jewelry has been taken, pawned, sold and traded for drugs, it has been chopped up and made into junk playthings for junkies. The whole problem being that I have discovered is that there is a meth problem here in Mount Forest, and these junkies will stop at nothing to steal and rob a person blind. I made a mistake and was fooled by a couple of these people, and they were part and party to me being ripped off. I helped these people out even though I had less than them. And they choose to take advantage of me. But never did I give them permission to steal from me. One of them was a school teacher and a mother to 2 children, and made herself out to be something she wasn’t. Well lesson learned. Trust no one, and never move or set up a business in Mount Forest.
