Dear Wellington advertiser, Regarding Ken Chapmans comments over the free Installation of water; does Mr Chapman not realise that his arguments are flawed on many levels. If Mr Chapman proposed that all adults with children had to fund their childrens education only because it was unfair to tax the remaining electorate that dont have children, I think he would be out of office in a flash. But yet he is happy to use this same argument against forcing people to pay to join the local tax supported water supply,( even against their will). He cant use the minority must pay to join the majority argument as this is against every level of our nations morals. Like racism and ageism this outdated model which in a way is a form of bullying needs to be removed from our local government. With regards to the costs, are we sure that the contractors being paid to do the work are actually giving us the best value, after all this is local government where costs are artificially escalated and in some cases pockets are lined I think that that the people of Erin should join with the rest of the towns in this local area who are being forced onto the mains to get this legal form of bullying outlawed. After all if you have well water and a septic why would you want to go less green and join the mains.
