Letter to the Editor: Hands Off Our Children!
Now is the time for real political change! While parents have demanded to know why our children are being taught how to have anal/oral sex/masturbate, and question their gender under the guise of education, the research outlining potential consequences on youth has fallen on deaf ears. Indeed, the political masters have repeatedly said that our young people will not be harmed.
However, Wynne just announced the largest single investment in Canadian history to improve access to mental health and addictions services — an additional $2.1 billion dollars — for our youth. More than $17 billion dollars over the next four years will be funded by our hard earned tax dollars.
From Wynne’s release — “In 2018-19, more than 12,000 more young people will be able to access community based services such as therapy and counselling, a number that will grow to about 46,000 by 2021-22.”
While the government might suggest these funds are geared primarily to addictions, it is difficult to ignore the projected numbers that confirm the 12,000 youth requiring therapy and counselling in 2018 will increase to 46,000 three years from now.
This is not progress. Neither do these figures reflect a new vision for our youth. But it does confirm the GIGO premise — “garbage in, garbage out” — and sadly, it is our children who will pay the ultimate price.
Thus, June 7, let’s end Wynne’s experiment of treating our youth like guinea pigs in a social engineering experiment that has — as we now are witnessing and paying for — obviously failed.
