Relay for Life – Youth 2017 at Centre Wellington District High School
Thank you to Donors
We were fortunate that the weather held out for us to help make our first Relay for Life event a huge success. As I write this note our current amount raised is $54,530.85 Our goal was $30,000. Exceeding our targeted amount is a testament to our caring community. We could not have done it without you. Food always helps to make an event successful. We received many donations and support from community members. I would like to thank Aileen Hawkins at M & M Food Market for her kind donations and advice, Noah Timpano from Domino’s Pizza, Jeremy Hewitt from Zehrs, Patrick Anderson from Fresh Co., Jackie Fraser from Fraberts, Tim Horton’s in Fergus and Cambridge, and CostCo. We also received many “door prizes” from the community: Harvey’s, McDonald’s, New Orlean’s Pizza, Jester’s, and Cork Restaurant. We also got help with other items from the Wellington County Museum, Universal Rental Services, and Direct Save. The local media helped us get the word out. Cogeco and the Wellington Advertiser came to our Relay Rally in March, and reported on event day. The Grand 101 FM reported our story and invited us to be on their Swap and Talk show. All of these gifts to our event helped us to hit our target and more. We could not have pulled this off without you. Finally, we would like to thank all the people in our community who supported our event through monetary contributions. With the generosity of donors like you, the Canadian Cancer Society has more impact against more cancers in more communities than any other charity in Canada.
