I am a student at John Black. Fergus needs more public tennis courts. Without those, tennis courts are always crowded. We always have to wait to get on them unless we go late at night, early in the morning or while people are working or at school. Most people don’t have access to those hours. We want to promote physical activity, right? We can’t do that while people are sitting around and waiting, can we? The fewer people sitting around, the more active people are. It is $50, 000 to put them in, so not too expensive. They would be used a lot. There are many people who love to play tennis in Centre Wellington, and other people who would like to start. They can’t get an open court without going out of their way to sign up a week before. The size of our club is rapidly increasing. With more courts, more people can play at a time. One good spot would be fixing the ones behind the sportsplex where there are 3 already. All you have to do is fix them up and put a net on them.
