I recently attended an open house for the first phase of 2400 homes going into the Sorbara development. It quickly became clear through questions from the attending citizens that the infrastructure for this and other developments nearby does not exist. Since we are already in one of the highest property tax rated jurisdictions in Ontario, additional increases to your tax rate can only be the outcome of these developments. How can a community of 6500 homes adequately adjust to the planned addition of 4500 to 5500 new homes in five years? How have we arrived at this situation with no public outcry?
