GUELPH – The Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington is celebrating its 20-year anniversary with events in Guelph and Arthur.
A community celebration will be held in Guelph on Sept. 23 at 12pm. The clinic will be offering hot dogs, popcorn, and cake, free for community members, in front of the office at the Guelph Community Health Centre, 176 Wyndham Street North.
A celebration event will also be held in Arthur on Oct. 12 at 12pm. The event will include a free pizza lunch in the parking lot behind Canada Post at 150 George Street.
As a Legal Aid-funded community legal clinic, governed by a board of directors made up of local community members, the clinic has served Guelph and Wellington County for the past 20 years.
The clinic provides free legal services to low-income residents across the region. In 2021 the clinic launched the second phase of its Law Van project, with funding support from the Law Foundation of Ontario, offering mobile legal assistance to rural communities in Wellington County and Halton Region.
“We look forward to continuing to serve our community, working with community partners, and improving access to justice for all,” states a press release announcing the celebration.
“We invite community members, and service providers to join us in Guelph or Arthur to celebrate our anniversary, meet our team, and learn about our Law Van,” officials state.
