CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township of Centre Wellington is thrilled to announce an upcoming information session to introduce its innovative pilot program for volunteer recruitment, Community Connect, to community organizations that depend on volunteers.
The session will take place virtually on May 28 at 2pm. The link to join can be found at www.centrewellington.ca/communityconnect.
Community Connect is a new initiative designed to match passionate individuals with organizations in the community that rely on volunteers. From local service clubs and non-profits to community events and initiatives, Community Connect aims to bridge the gap between volunteers and the causes they care about.
During the information session, attendees will have the opportunity to learn:
– how the township can help recognize current volunteers;
– how the township engages new residents, high school students, and diverse populations; and
– details about the open houses, new resident reception, and volunteer fair planned for later this year.
“We are excited to launch Community Connect and bring together individuals and organizations dedicated to making a positive impact in Centre Wellington,” says manager of community development Kristen Bettiol.
“Volunteers are the heart of our community, and through Community Connect, we aim to empower them to find meaningful opportunities to contribute their time and talents while feeling engaged and connected.”
Whether you’re an organization that has typically been very successful in attracting volunteers or are struggling to find people to help keep your organization going, everyone is welcome to attend the information session and learn more t how working collaboratively can help everyone.
“Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community for all,” officials state.
