La Leche League Canada fundraising walk raises $400

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Members of the Centre Wellington chapter of La Leche League Canada met June 8 for a picnic and fundraising walk at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, raising $400 for the not-for-profit.

The organization has been providing up-to-date breast feeding information and support for more than 60 years.

Locally, volunteer leaders host regular meetings for those who are pregnant or breast feeding.

They also provide telephone and email support.

“At La Leche League meetings you can ask your breastfeeding and parenting questions and meet others who are on the same journey you’re on,” volunteer group leader Cecily Heslett stated. “We always have a good time together. Women often make lifelong friendships through La Leche League.”
