Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra performing at Wellington County Museum

ABOYNE – A major concert will take place at the Wellington County Museum and Archives on Jan. 26 at 2pm, when members of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra (KWSO) will present a Chamber Music Concert.

This concert will be a reprise of the works they recently played for the annual chamber music concert sponsored by KWSO.

The program will present The Septet in E-flat major, Opus 20, by Ludwig van Beethoven, scored for clarinet, horn, bassoon, violin, viola, cello and double bass.

The Septet was one of Beethoven’s most successful and popular works and circulated in many editions and arrangements.

The second portion of the concert will be Judy Douglas and Brad Moggach. The theme for the horn and piano duo is Songs Without Words.

Exploring the world of musical theatre from Purcell to Mancini, they will perform works such as Handel’s Where ere you walk, Dido’s Lament by Purcell, and Mancini’s Charade and the Days of Wine and Roses.

“This varied program will be a joy for the audience in the exhibition hall of the museum, surrounded by paintings of the current show From Plein Air to Studio: Exploration of Canadian Landscapes,” officials state.

Tickets are available at the door for $10, youth $1.

Refreshments with the artists are complementary after the show.
