The Just for Laughs Road Show is set for the Centre In The Square April 16 at 7:30pm.
The performance will feature four of the best stand-up comics direct from the world’s largest and most prestigious comedy event.
The host is Joey Elias, of Montreal who began performing comedy in 1992 after losing a pool hall bet to a friend. His loss was the comedy world’s gain. Since then, Elias has appeared in 11 Just For Laughs festivals.
John Roy, a city dweller all his life, grew up in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighbourhood and began his professional career at Zanies Comedy Club in Chicago. He went on to tour the country’s best clubs. In 2003, he appeared on the CBS television show Star Search and was its first champion, earning $100,000. Roy appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and on CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
Rocky LaPorte has been performing comedy across America as a top-notch headliner for a long time. He was voted the Las Vegas Comedy Festival’s Comedian of the Year, made numerous appearances on The Tonight Show and Caroline’s Comedy Hour, and even filmed his own pilot for CBS, The Rocky LaPorte Show. Rocky also claims to have played for the Chicago Cubs in the 1970s, been a professional opera singer, and then reunited The Eagles.
One never knows with LaPorte what is fact and what is fiction.
Louis Ramey is a world traveller, thriving on touring and live performance. He has performed on numerous television shows including: The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Last Call with Carson Daly, The View and on his own half-hour special Comedy Central Presents: Louis Ramey.
