Jump Up fundraiser

Jump Up fundraiser – Dog Speed Animal Rescue hosted a fundraiser for their non-profit group at the Highland Pines Campground in Belwood on Aug. 2. The group takes in difficult dogs that are not accepted by other shelters and uses funds for education to combat puppy mills. Officials are hoping to build a shelter in the near future called “More Time” for animals that need more time to be adopted or fostered. They are always looking for more foster homes for animals they rescue. They have participated in rescue efforts during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans in 2005, the earthquake in Chile in 2010, the mudslides in Brazil in 2011, the flooding in Thailand in 2011, and in the Gulf of Mexico during the BP oil spill in 2010.
