WELLINGTON COUNTY – CWOW (Collaborative Women of Wellington County) is launching a speakers series and the first will be Julie Ellis.
Co-founder of the Hamilton-based Mabel’s Labels, Ellis will be joining participants online for a fun, inspiring and informative session on Dec. 2 from 9:30 to 11am.
Ellis and three other moms started the label business out of necessity – their kids kept losing their belongings.
They started production in a basement and after receiving a shout-out on the daytime talk show The View, they recently sold the business for $12 million.
CWOW is a working committee of the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce, driven by a leadership team of local business owners, with a mission to provide a safe forum with opportunities to learn, connect and access expertise.
CWOW is striving to connect to and engage with committed, professional women. The vision of the group is to be inclusive.
Regardless of whether you own a company, work for a company, or are a leader in your home, officials say this group will have something for everyone as participants earn and grow together as committed individuals in the community.
