WELLINGTON COUNTY – Jennifer Adams is set to join County of Wellington staff as the municipality’s new clerk.
At the September county council meeting, Donna Bryce announced her retirement from her role as clerk after 12 years with the county and 27 years of public service.
Adams returns to the county from the Region of Waterloo, where she is currently working as the manager of information management and privacy.
Prior to joining Waterloo Region, Adams worked for the County of Wellington for 12 years in various roles.
Adams began her career with the county in 2010 as deputy clerk and was promoted to manager of privacy and information in 2018.
Before joining the county in 2010, she worked at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a legislative assistant for former MPP Kevin Flynn of Oakville.
Adams completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with an administrative studies specialization and minor in peace and conflict studies at the University of Waterloo.
She was also recently elected to Centre Wellington council last month.
“The county is pleased to welcome Jen Adams back as our new county clerk,” said CAO Scott Wilson.
“She brings extensive political experience and education to her new role. Donna Bryce leaves very big shoes to fill but I am confident Jen is up to the challenge.”
“I am excited to be returning to the county in my new role as county clerk,” said Adams.
“I look forward to working closely with council and staff and continuing the amazing work that Donna Bryce and her team have accomplished.”
Adams will commence her new duties on Dec. 5. Bryce, who remains with the county until Dec. 30, will assist with Adams’ transition in her new role.
