CENTRE WELLINGTON – The township is excited to announce a community partnership with Jefferson Elora Corporation (JEC).
The company has purchased naming rights for the Elora Community Centre for the next 10 years.
The agreement will begin on Jan. 1, 2024, when the facility is scheduled to re-open following extensive renovations.
“The township takes great pride in offering facilities, programs, and services to support active living and healthy lifestyles in Centre Wellington,” said Mayor Shawn Watters.
“The partnership with JEC will allow the township to deliver opportunities above and beyond what we could have done. Thank you JEC for investing into your community.”
JEC will pay $78,200 annually for a total of $782,000 over the next 10 years.
Funds from the township naming rights and sponsorship agreements assist in the provision of township services and projects.
Naming rights agreements provide the township with alternative funding sources to benefit the quality of life for those who live in Centre Wellington, officials say.
“Jefferson Elora Corporation is excited to partner with the township on this initiative. Investing in active living and health and wellness programs within our shared community, is a valued opportunity for our team” said JEC human resources manager Deborah Hoffman.
The agreement includes:
– the Elora Community Centre will be renamed the Jefferson Elora Community Centre (JECC);
– a centre-ice JEC logo;
– sponsored JEC public skates.
The township’s community partnership program was introduced at a January 2023 council meeting and the sponsorship and naming rights policy was adopted.
The township welcomes and encourages sponsorships to assist in the growth of township services and projects.
Interested parties can contact township staff to explore ideas and customize options to fit marketing needs and budget, offering recognition, public acknowledgement, and other promotional opportunities.
