James McQueen PS to host 24th annual Bunny Breakfast

FERGUS – The James McQueen Bunny Breakfast will take place at James McQueen Public School on April 13 from 9 to 11am. In its 24th year, this Easter extravaganza is a community event the whole family can enjoy.

Admission is $3 per person or $10 per family.

Start with the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast (gluten free is available) – cooked by school council. Coffee during the bunny breakfast has been supplied by Starbucks Fergus.

After eating there are fun activities for the kids and the annual silent auction.

Some auction items include a four-course meal with wine tasting at the Elora Mill, photo shoots, gift cards, toys and baskets from local businesses.

The event is run by the James McQueen school council with proceeds being distributed on an annual basis wherever there is a need.

The money raised from this event is allocated on an annual basis.

In past years, it has gone toward projects such as rejuvenating the playground, improving the school grounds with trees and gardens and an outdoor teaching space, providing educational programs for students, and in some years a portion has gone toward other community needs, such as helping a local family to purchase medical equipment to improve their daughter’s quality of life. “This year, our goal is to raise money to subsidize school trips, build new outdoor equipment and a two-year plan to green James McQueen’s yard,” said Serena Guenter, school council co-chair. “This event brings the entire community together, beyond James McQueen. We are very grateful for the prize donations and the wonderful community spirit we see here each year.”
