ABOYNE – Insights, a juried art exhibitions will be at the Wellington County Museum here until Sept. 6
Organized and sponsored by the Elora Arts Council, Insights showcases a range of art from emerging and established artists in Wellington and the surrounding five counties.
With over 300 works submitted for consideration, only 72 pieces were chosen by the jurors: award-winning artists Kathy Kaiser, Eva McCauley and Catherine Paleczny. Artists are from Wellington County include:
– Pete Illingworth, Mount Forest, sculpture award;
– Marion Eleanor Smith, Arthur;
– Jerre Davidson, Alma;
– Sophie Hogan, Elora, Insights award;
– Phil Irish, Elora;
– Grayce Perry, Elora;
– Richard Worthington, Elora;
– Sylvia Galbraith, Fergus; third place;
– Maggie Vanderweit, Fergus;
– Silvia Taylor, Belwood, Ellen Langlands memorial award;
– Denis Hopkins, Orton;
– Julia Vandepolder, Hillsburgh;
– Sonia Bukata, Erin, fibre art award;
– Dick Marvin, Rockwood;
– Robert Wehkamp, Rockwood;
– Don Kilby, Eden Mills, mixed media award; and
– Richard Pilon, Eden Mills, drawing award
The museum is on County Road 18, between Fergus and Elora. The gallery is open weekdays from 9:30am to 4:30pm and weekends and holidays noon to 4pm.
