ELORA – We Three are three separate people (Shirley Al, Grayce Perry and Stephen Haigh) who share the odd meal and drink together and just happen to get along quite well.
The art show will take place at the Imagine Gallery, 18 Colborne Street, Elora from May 28 to June 5 from noon to 5pm.
Opening night will take place May 27 from 7 to 10pm.
The We Three show began about seven years ago and after a pause due to COVID, the group is back.
“We are looking forward very much to celebrating our work with you,” the group says.
Each of the artists have worked in their respective mediums for a while and have much passion for art.
Al, who can be quite serious about politics and world events, has a side of wonder and magic when she plays skillfully with clay, giving life to various unique enchanted creatures.
Perry creates contemporary collage paintings using inks on Japanese papers that are cut, torn, or even burned.
Perry’s work deserves to be examined closely. Although sometimes appearing simple the pieces are unexpectedly complex and symbolic. Touching and inspiring!
Haigh, now that’s a very long story and very fascinating at least to Haigh.
In a few words, Haigh has been involved in the art of “Marquetry” for 50 years, creating pictures and furniture using the phenomenal beauty and texture of wood, a must see to understand.
“It will be a wonderful show this year filled with imagination, wonder, joy, beauty and enchantment,” officials say.
