Hurricanes to host benefit game for family

It’s not often an evening at the hockey rink can do so much good for people in such need.

On Dec. 21 the Guelph Hurricanes and Listowel Cyclones Jr. B teams will face off in a game benefitting the Prescott-Power family, whose home was destroyed by fire on Nov. 12.

The Hurricanes management group, volunteers from Rockwood, and the Rockwood Firefighter’s Association are organizing the fundraiser.

The groups will present a cash donation to the family at the game consisting of a portion of tickets sales, a 50/50 draw at the game and possibly other items.

Tickets to the game are $10 and can be purchased in advance at the Rockwood Foodland or at the door on game night.

The game is set for Dec. 21 at 7:30pm at the Sleeman Centre, 50 Woolwich Street, in Guelph. For more information, email mpuckett@guelphhurricanes.com.
