Hospice Wellington in connection with Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington and Old Quebec Street Shoppes will hold an art therapy exhibition entitled ‘Cultural Encounters Project: Exploring Aspects of Life and Grieving with Mandarin-Speaking Elders’.
The opening reception of the exhibition will be held at Old Quebec Street Shoppes and Suites from 6:30 to 9pm on Sept. 12.
The week-long exhibition will be open to the public from Sept. 13 to 19 10am to 5pm.
Group participants enrolled in the ‘Encounters Project’ invite you to explore various aspects of their lives, using creative art-making to illuminate their personal understanding and beliefs surrounding a variety of topics and themes, including family, home and community and the balance between life death as a part of our existence.
Using the SoulCollage Process in connection to art and narrative therapy practices, collage materials were used during an eight-week art therapy program to deepen understanding of the many aspects of the artist’s life and experience.
