A fire north of Cumnock destroyed a small barn on Monday, but horses in the barn escaped unharmed.
Firefighters from Arthur and Fergus responded to the barn fire at 7182 Jones Baseline at around 8pm on March 19.
Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue deputy chief Jonathan Karn told the Advertiser a neighbour reported the blaze.
Karn stated the structure, a single storey hobby barn about 25 by 40 feet in size, was “fully involved” with fire when fire crews arrived on the scene.
Additional tankers from Elora and Mount Forest were called to assist with water supply.
Karn said horses in the barn escaped uninjured and there was no damage reported to other structures on the property.
He added the fire was under control by 8:50pm and all crews cleared the scene by 10:30pm. There was no damage estimate available.
