In the midst of a Canadian winter it can be easy to hide away under a cozy duvet for the entire season.
However, Hillside Inside has the weekend of Jan. 29 to 31 booked, concerts and free activities that will encourage people to rethink their hibernation.
Jan 29: Basia Bulat and Cold Specks will perform at 9:30pm at Mitchell Hall, St. George’s Church.
Jan. 30: The Strumbellas and special guest to be announced will play at 9:30pm at Mitchell Hall, St. George’s Church.
Jan. 31: An Evening with DakhaBrakha will occur at 7:30pm at St. George’s Church Sanctuary.
Free activities and performances
Many activities and events at Hillside Inside will occur throughout the weekend around the downtown core of Guelph.
The Girls and Guitars series will be featured in six downtown storefronts (cafes, stores, and a gallery). The series will be showcasing six female singer-songwriters for half-hour shows that can be enjoyed on the street or in the store.
Road hockey and a drumming workshop are also available.
On Jan 30, young musicians and singer-songwriters will take part in the youth showcase in Planet Bean Café on the corner of Wyndham and Carden streets.
Tickets
Individual show tickets and weekend passes will be available from Dec. 5 online through Ticketbreak or at The Bookshelf, 42 Quebec Street, downtown Guelph.
Ticket prices range from $25 to $35 with weekend passes going for $75.50.
