HILLSBURGH – The Hillsburgh community committee and the Erin Chamber of Commerce hosted a tree lighting event at the Hillsburgh Parkette on Nov. 16 with over 300 people participating.
The event was a hit among the community with officials stating it was the “largest ever Hillsburgh tree lighting event.”
Erin council and mayor attended as well as many volunteers to keep the event running.
A jolly man in a red suit made an appearance arriving on a fire truck in the evening.
Over 150 hot dogs were enjoyed accompanied with hundreds of cups of hot chocolate.
After the tree lighting and visit with Santa, guests were encouraged to join the Erin Outlaws hockey team at the Hillsburgh Arena for a free skate.
Officials send their thanks to the Outlaws, Erin Chamber of Commerce, Ann Shanahan and the Hillsburgh community committee.
