The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is conducting a Detailed Design and Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study for the rehabilitation of Highway 9 between Clifford and Harriston.
The ministry is planning a repaving and culvert restoration project on a nine-kilometre stretch of the highway from the Clifford east limits, just under a kilometre east of Elora and Arthur Street intersection in Harriston.
The MTO states the project will include pavement resurfacing, culvert rehabilitations/replacements and minor electrical work.
During construction, Highway 9 traffic will be reduced to a single lane. At times, the road will be closed to traffic and a detour route. provided. Access for businesses and properties on Highway 9 will be maintained throughout construction.
Subject to funding and approvals, it is anticipated construction will take place in between April and November of 2018.
