ERIN – Thanks to Erin’s heritage committee, the town is introducing a heritage plaque program for residents with pre-1929 homes.
Property owners who want to proudly display their bit of history must do all the legwork to gather names, dates, and other relevant details before approaching the town.
The signs are priced slightly above cost at $125, to cover staff time. That’ll get you a plaque measuring roughly 12-by-18 inches, with a swooped top, that can mounted on your home or building.
According to the town, the program is expected to be introduced by the end of the year.
“We will establish a point of contact for residents interested in the program closer to its launch,” town communications staffer Chris Vernon wrote in an email.
