HARRISTON – Harriston Rising is celebrating all things sweet, merry and bright, with two festive events for local residents this holiday season.
New this year, the committee is introducing Candyland Christmas with Mrs. Claus.
At the event, local youngsters can bring completed Wish List and Activity Booklets provided by Harriston Rising to receive the “Elf Stamp of Approval” and a special treat from Mrs. Claus and her elves in Tannery Park.
The event will take place on Dec. 11 from 10am to noon, complete with music, free balloons by Chuckles, and photos with Mrs. Claus.
Booklets are still available for pick-up at Launchit Minto (1 Elora St. in Harriston).
Harriston Rising also urges residents to decorate their houses and enter in the Harriston Shines competition for a chance to win prizes.
Participants can register in the following categories: best front porch, best outdoor tree, best garage décor, and best old fashioned (no lights) Christmas, by emailing hello@harristonrising.ca by Dec. 12.
Winners will be announced at the Harriston Shines Celebration on Dec. 18 in Tannery Park from 5 to 6pm.
