HARRISTON – Members of the Harriston Legion Branch 296 presented a cheque for $20,000 to Mark Leslie and Dan Hill, members of the Palmerston Hospital MRI Fundraising committee, and Dale Franklin, development officer for Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation.

The $20,000 was raised by the Harriston Legion’s Catch the Ace fundraiser and was donated to assist in the purchase of a much needed MRI machine.

Members of the Harriston Legion and the Catch the Ace committee were present for the cheque presentation.

Additionally, $5,000 was donated to Minto-Clifford Public School to support various student programs and $1,000 was donated to Minto Minor Ball for uniforms.

These funds were also raised by the Harriston Legion’s Catch the Ace fundraiser.

“Thank you to all the people that have supported our Catch the Ace draw. As you can see, it is a very worthwhile project that helps our community in so many ways,” officials stated. “If you are interested in joining our Catch the Ace committee, we are welcoming additional members. It’s not hard work and we actually have a lot of fun.”
