GUELPH – It is not too early to register for a June 2 fundraising event for the Guelph Humane Society.
With its second annual Happy Trails Walk-a-thon, the Guelph Humane Society (GHS) aims to raise $35,000 to support vulnerable animals in Guelph and Wellington County.
“The Happy Trails Walk-a-thon is a signature GHS event that allows us to provide essential care and support for more than 3,000 sick, orphaned, lost or abandoned animals that arrive at our door each year,” GHS executive director Lisa Veit said in a news release.
Participants are encouraged to sign up as individuals or as teams, and do peer-to-peer fundraising, meaning they use their personal networks to raise funds and support the cause.
Corporate opportunities are also available.
The event, presented by Wellington Laboratories, will feature a walk on the scenic trails surrounding the Humane Society’s south-Guelph headquarters. Participants can also enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment throughout the day in the Subaru Superwoof Zone, the Speedy Auto Service Team Zone, and a Red Carpet, provided by the event’s media sponsor.
Dogs are welcome at the event, but people don’t have to bring their furry friends in order to participate.
