ABOYNE – A leading orthopaedic hand and wrist surgeon will be working out of Groves Memorial Community Hospital (GMCH) two days a month.
Dr. Peter Schuringa recently began his new role at GMCH. He has been practicing orthopaedic surgery in Kitchener-Waterloo for 20 years and has maintained a subspecialty focus on conditions affecting the hand and wrist.
He will operate out of GMCH two days a month for consults and surgeries.
“Dr. Schuringa has been serving our community for many years through referrals,” Dr. Doug Roach, GMCH chief of staff, stated in a press release. “We are pleased that he is able to provide his exceptional talent on-site at Groves Hospital, bringing care close to home for many of our patients.”
Stephen Street, president and CEO of the Wellington Health Care Alliance, stated, “Dr. Schuringa has been instrumental in establishing a formal partnership with Grand River Hospital to extend their hand and plastic consult services to our three Emergency Departments in Fergus, Mount Forest and Palmerston.”
Patients can book an appointment with Schuringa through a referral by their primary care provider. Schuringa also works at Grand River Hospital and has a clinic in KW, Handworx.
